Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will you help me select the music for my event?
A: Yes. I would be happy to help you choose the perfect music for your special day.
Q: Will you play my favorite song at my event?
A: Yes. It is normally possible to play musical selections which are not part of the regular repertoire. Please contact me with your requests well in advance to learn whether I have appropriate copies of the sheet music. If music is not available, pieces will be considered as long as sheet music is provided prior to the event and the music can be transcribed successfully for the instrument.
Q: Will you play for an outside event?
A: Yes, as long as conditions permit. The harp is a delicate instrument and cannot be subjected to extreme weather conditions. Outside accomodations include: a hard, flat playing surface; a location out of direct sunlight; easy access to the playing location from the unloading area. The harp is moved on a cart and requires a level surface for transport. The musician(s) reserves the right to refuse outdoor play if the conditions are not condusive to playing or the instrument would be placed at risk. All outside events should have an indoor contigency plan if music is required.
Q: How far will you travel?
A: Travel is based on distance from the north-western suburbs of Metropolitan Washington, DC. There is a travel surcharge per hour of driving. Travel fees are waived if the location is within one hour's driving time.
